Goldfields Ginger Jar

These are two paintings from a series of Still Lifes I did during lockdown. I became interested in the contradiction between these objects being described as still, and the many lives they must have been part of. How many hands have held these vases and cups. On how many tables have they sat. Witnessing the relentless passing of time.
